This report intent to brief about the program conducted on the occasion of the World Wild Life Day by, Flt – B, AIET of 06 KAR AIR SQN NCC, Mangalore, to create an awareness about the multitude of benefits that wild life conservation provides to people.


“Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet

The event was conducted to make the cadets gain a better understanding of challenges faced by wild animals. Through the event, cadets got the knowledge of the struggles of wild animal’s due urbanization, poaching, pollution, and habitat destruction, as well as human contributions toward conservation initiatives for wild life’s. World Wildlife Day is an opportunity to celebrate the many beautiful and varied forms of wild fauna and flora and to raise awareness of the multitude of benefits that their conservation provides to people. At the same time, the Day reminds us of the urgent need to step up the fight against wildlife crime and human-induced reduction of species, which have wide-ranging economic, environmental and social impacts.


On the account of world wild life day Alva’s Air Wing NCC and Army wing organized poster making and quiz competition to the students of AIET and for cadets. On 05 Mar 2022, 33 students took part in quiz and poster making competition. Quiz competition was held in online mode, most of the questions were related to wild life and their conservative acts. Poster making was also consecutively held in both online and offline mode, most of the students actively participated in the event and enjoyed. On 06 Mar 2022 quiz and poster making competition was held only for NCC cadets in which 30+ cadets took part. All NCC Cadets showed keen interest in the event. The posters created by students and cadets are appended in annexure – I.


The event was inspiring for the cadets of Flight-B, 6 Kar Air Sqn NCC, Cadets got awareness of the multitude of benefits of wildlife to people, the interlinkages between the various components of biodiversity, and threats they are facing. It is also good opportunity to call on governments around the world, civil society, private sector and individuals to add their voices and take actions to help conserve wildlife and ensure sustainable use before it’s too late.
